Barbara knew from the age five she wanted to work in medicine, loving science – and especially biology!
Today, she is a registered dental hygienist with over 40 years of clinical experience and a practicing orofacial myofunctional therapist. In 2019, she received the Hu-Friedy/ADHA Master Clinician Award from the American Dental Hygienist Association.
She received her dental hygiene degree from Onondaga Community College, a Bachelor of Science in dental auxiliary teacher education from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill and a Master of Science in business from Husson University in Bangor Maine. She continued her training in myofunctional therapy from the Academy of Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy in Los Angeles. She’s a mother of two lovely young ladies, and wife of Tom. In her spare time, she loves reading, traveling, and talking with other dental geeks. Be sure to check out her blog, Queen of Dental Hygiene!
