VagusLase & SilentEar
Laser Therapy in Edmonds, WA

A Gentle, Non-Invasive Approach to Whole-Body Function

Your body is a system of systems, all in constant communication. That coordination drives everything — how you breathe, how your muscles respond, how you process sensory input, how you shift between tension and rest. When it’s off, the effects can show up as jaw tension, disrupted sleep, sound sensitivity, or a sense that your system can’t quite settle. Our Fotona laser offers a way to restore balance — stimulating natural regenerative processes in the mouth, throat, and tissues around the ear to support how your body functions as a whole, without cutting or removing anything.

Two Targeted Approaches
VagusLase & SilentEar
What VagusLase Targets

VagusLase focuses on areas of the upper head and neck, including the soft palate, where the vagus nerve runs close to the surface of the tissue. By stimulating these areas with carefully controlled laser energy, we aim to support how your body shifts between states of tension and relaxation, and how the airway behaves during rest.

The Vagus Nerve Connection

The vagus nerve plays a central role in regulating how your nervous system responds to stress, how the airway behaves at rest, and how you recover after exertion. Stimulating the tissues near this nerve gives us a non-invasive way to engage that system directly — without medication and without working against the body’s natural rhythms.

Symptoms VagusLase May Help

Patients often consider VagusLase when they’re dealing with jaw tension or clenching, TMJ discomfort, ongoing stress, difficulty settling, or sleep that doesn’t feel as restorative as it should. Because these symptoms often overlap, VagusLase can be one piece of a more connected approach to whole-body function.

The VagusLase Experience

Treatment is brief and comfortable. You relax in our treatment chair while we apply gentle laser energy to the appropriate areas. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild warmth. No injections, no cutting, and no downtime — you can return to your day right after your appointment.

What SilentEar Targets

SilentEar focuses on tissues in and around the ear, including the outer canal and nearby structures. The goal is to support local tissue function and sensory processing in an area that’s often overlooked in standard dental and medical care, but is closely connected to the airway, jaw, and nervous system.

How SilentEar Supports the Ears

The same gentle, controlled laser energy used for VagusLase is applied to the ear region, encouraging circulation and cellular activity in tissues that play a role in how sound and pressure are processed. The treatment is precise, comfortable, and works with the body’s natural regenerative response.

Symptoms SilentEar May Help

Patients often consider SilentEar when they experience ringing or buzzing in the ears (tinnitus), a sense of fullness or pressure, or sensitivity to sound and easy overstimulation. Rather than masking these symptoms, we work to support the systems involved.

The SilentEar Experience

As with VagusLase, treatment is brief and non-invasive. You’ll feel gentle warmth, but no discomfort. Anesthesia is rarely needed, and there’s no recovery time. Many patients pair SilentEar with VagusLase in the same visit for a more complete effect.

FAQs

Find Answers Here

Is VagusLase or SilentEar painful?

No. Treatment is gentle and non-invasive. Most patients describe the sensation as a mild warmth on the skin or tissue being treated. There are no injections, no cutting, and anesthesia is rarely needed. If you've ever felt anxious about laser treatment, this is usually a pleasant surprise.

How long does each session take?

Most VagusLase and SilentEar appointments are brief — typically completed within a normal office visit, with no downtime afterward. You can return to work, exercise, and your usual routine the same day. The exact length depends on which areas we're treating and whether you're combining both procedures.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you're working with and how your body responds. Some patients notice changes after a single session. Others benefit from a short series spaced out over several weeks. We'll talk through what makes sense for you based on your symptoms, goals, and overall treatment plan — and adjust as we go.

Can I combine VagusLase and SilentEar in the same visit?

Yes — and many patients do. Because the two treatments target different but closely related areas, combining them often makes sense, especially when symptoms overlap (such as TMJ tension alongside ear ringing or sound sensitivity). We'll help you decide what's most useful based on your individual picture.

Finding Dr. Taylor and her team was such a godsend! I was referred by a homeopathic doctor in my town who said it would be worth my while to make the 1 1/2 hr drive…oh boy was she right! That was over seven years ago and I’m still making the drive because I have found no other office that compares. The care they offer is comprehensive and cutting edge. They helped me make informed choices that not only saved my teeth, but have improved my overall health. I HIGHLY recommend them!
